Session 1: Computational Thinking: Introduction to Analytics, Modeling, and Simulation is part of the Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC) Data Science Initiative Faculty Training Workshop being held January 9 – 10, 2019. This is an in-person only event open only to AUCC member institution faculty.
This session will provide example materials for basic computational science education, modeling, and computational thinking. Several different tools that can be used to introduce modeling concepts will be demonstrated along with sources of models and instructional modules that can be inserted into a wide range of courses. This is a hands-on workshop that will include using a range of software including AgendCubes, Excel, and Vensim.
