1st Temple-XSEDE High-Performance Code-a-thon
( Extreme Science, Data & Cheesesteaks )

This summer from June 4th to 8th 2012 Temple University
will be hosting a hands-on HPC workshop focusing
on development of scientific software for the XSEDE
infrastructure and large HPC clusters.

The workshop jointly organized by Galen Arnold,
ESTEO lead from XSEDE and Axel Kohlmeyer, Associate
Vice Dean for Scientific Computation at Temple
specifically aims to address the needs of current
and prospective XSEDE users that are programming on
and for scientific applications in high-performance
computing. Potential participants should have sufficient
experience in programming and basic knowledge in
parallel programming, as required by the application
they are or plan to be working on. Applications
can be entirely self-written or community software
packages to which features are to be added or the
(parallel) performance on XSEDE resources needs
to be improved.

The workshop will provide a combination of lectures
on selected advanced topics in high-performance computing
and ample time to work on specific programming projects
of the participants. Participants will be supported by
experienced XSEDE and HPC users and XSEDE extended
collaborative support services staff experts.

The exact details of the event and a link to
a website to submit a proposal for participation
will be put online soon.

Until then, potential participants can contact
the organizers with questions about the scope
and details of the event at <>.
