TACC Training - Introduction to Wrangler

In this in-person and webcast training seminar, we will explore how users interact and work with Wrangler. We will give a brief overview of the capacity and capabilities of the system. We will review the allocation mechanism and give a live demonstration of how users allocate resources on Wrangler to their project. We will show how users can work with databases, customized workflows, and Hadoop/Spark based workflows on the system. We will also give examples of how projects can leverage the 10 PB replicated file system as well as the iRODS environment to help users manage their data collections.
More detailed hands-on seminars will be scheduled in coming months to explore the individual capabilities of the system (e.g. Database technologies and developing Hadoop MapReduce and Spark applications).
Significant time will be allotted for Q&A.
