Express Introduction To Linux Scripting

This short tutorial on Linux scripting is meant for beginners. The participants of this tutorial should be familiar with the basic Linux commands (that will be covered in the Express Linux Tutorial on January 28, 2016). The main topics that will be covered in this tutorial are: writing a basic shell script, using variables in shell scripts, passing command-line arguments to shell scripts, decision-making in shell scripts, and using loops in shell-scripts. A brief overview of writing a SLURM job-script for running applications in batch-mode on Stampede will also be presented.
