XSEDE’s web single sign-on (SSO) process is used to log in to XDMod, Jetstream’s web interface, several XSEDE web sites (JIRA, Confluence, RDR, Research Software Portal, etc.), in the User Portal’s “Other Sign In Options”, and is one of the options for logging in to Globus Transfer. This web login process previously used a “” service operated by Globus for XSEDE.

As of April 27, XSEDE has transitioned XSEDE web SSO to use the “” service. As a result of this change, all web SSO logins using XSEDE credentials now require multi-factor authentication (MFA). Users who have not yet enrolled in XSEDE Duo will be prompted to enroll the first time they log in using Users will continue to have the option to use linked campus identities for authentication, which may or may not require MFA.

The XSEDE User Portal (XUP) main login process does not use XSEDE’s web SSO and is not affected by this change.
