Position Description
The Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology (CCAST) at North Dakota State University (NDSU) has an opening for a research computing facilitator to work with current and potential CCAST users and perform the following tasks:
1) Train researchers on parallel and other high performance techniques
2) Help researchers find and/or write high performance research software for their research
3) Understand and convey current trends in research computing technology to the user community
4) Understand and convey current trends in research to the CCAST team and help modify and/or develop new services
5) Write user guides, informational material and other public communications on behalf of CCAST

CCAST is a research unit within the Office of Research and Creative Activity and is located in the state-of-the-art NDSU Research Technology Park. CCAST provides research computing infrastructure to the NDSU research community and the region as the leading research computing center in the Dakotas.

Minimum Qualifications
1) Earned PhD or Masters + equivalent experience
2) 3+ years experience using and/or administering high performance computing facilities
3) Fluency in 1+ modern computer language
4) Excellent English oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications
1) Experience with high performance parallel file systems
2) Experience with high performance networking and data transfers on the WAN
3) Research success and grant-writing experience
4) Experience with MPI/OpenMP/or other parallel computing language/library
5) US Citizen or US permanent resident
